“We Have Been Waiting for So Long”- Riot Games CEO’s Update on Netflix Backed League of Legend Series Arcane Leaves Fans Upset

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Season 2 of the popular Netflix series, Arcane. Unfortunately, it appears that the wait will be longer than expected. Arcane, based on the League of Legends video game franchise, premiered on Netflix in November 2021. The series was an instant success with fans, and also a hit at the Emmy 2022.

Riot CEO has now confirmed that the next season of this series will be delayed. Fans are disappointed for having to wait this long, and many are hoping that the production quality does not deteriorate.

Delay in season 2 of Arcane

Riot CEO recently sat down for an interview with long-time LPL caster Guan Ze Yuan. Laurent stated in the interview that he saw the third episode of Season 2 and is excited about what is being done with the show. The biggest surprise for viewers came when Riot’s CEO revealed the show will be released in 2024.

Laurent stated there are two reasons for this delay. The first reason being the viewers will care about the quality put in the show. Laurent said, “We simply do not want to rush, so it takes time.”

The other reason was difficult to accept the fans of the show. “The bad reason is that we didn’t know whether Season 1 would be a success, so we didn’t start Season 2 until [later]. We could have started Season 2 much sooner if I had known. But because we didn’t know, we waited, and now we’re paying the price,” stated Laurent.

Fans upset with the delay in Arcane

Fans have taken to Twitter to voice their disappointment. This news of the delay is making many fans bitter.

Fans are waiting for this series for over two years now. This delay means one more year of delay in season 2 of the series.

But there are many hopeful fans too. User @Diego01852452 will be willing to wait for another two years, albeit only if the second season is as good as the first.

User @Tony17697327 commented how Netflix is losing on the delay of this series. As the delay increases, people will be losing interest in the series, this will cause the viewership of the second season to fall.
