Polish-Canadian gamer Michael Grzesiek, also known as Shroud, put in a brilliant run in the newly-released Valorant video game. Admittedly, the game is still not fully released yet, though the early reviews are positive. Some have noted that Riot Games’ new FPS, VALORANT, feels easier compared to the likes of Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
Shroud played as the character, Sage, who hails from China. When he spoke about the easy gameplay, he surmised that it is largely due lesser visual distractions on the map.
“I think it’s very similar to CS, but CS is very distracting,” Shroud admitted. “There’s a lot of places where people can disappear, and there’s a lot of distracting objects and a lot of bullshit on the map.”

Why is Shroud so happy with Valorant
Shroud drew a few comparisons with CS 1.6, which preceded CS: Source and CS:GO. At that time, 1.6 possessed minor map accents which allowed character models to stand out from the background. This allowed players to easily identify enemies and pick them off.

Meanwhile, CS:GO possesses a number of different map accents which are all visually stunning. The maps also add a feeling of depth to the game, however has the potential to act as a distraction. This means that this element can prevent players from attacking their enemies as quickly as possible. Additionally, the numerous extra elements in the game can act as an impromptu camouflage if players remain still in certain parts of the map. In other words, they can effectively blend in while other people are hunting for them.
Coming back to VALORANT, the game is still in its beta phase and not ready for a full release, This means there’s a good possibility that this won’t be the game final look when it finally releases this summer. However, the good news is that Riot Games is off to a good start and VALORANT has the potential to be a giant-killer.
