The team-based tactical shooter has taken the gaming world by storm. It has the community hooked so much that many pros even changed careers to take up this very game. The game currently has 11 playable agents. Anna Donlon had previously stated there would be a total of 6 agents coming in a year. And to start it off, the 12th agent is all ready to drop.
Valorant – Killjoy incoming
Riot Games ended up accidentally leaking Killjoy last day. Everything about Killjoy was briefly written and videos were added on the Riot website but was later taken down. However, that did not stop data miners from reposting everything.
You can read the info that was listed on the Killjoy page down below:
Alarmbot (C) – Equip and deploy a bot that hunts down enemies who dare to get in range. When my killer robot friend reaches its target, boom goes the idiot. Alarmbot not only deals damage, it temporarily leaves affected targets vulnerable to double damage from all sources. Hold equip if you want to recall your deployed bot.
Turret (Q) – Sometimes it’s good to plant some roots. Deploy a turret that fires at enemies within its 180-degree cone. Hold equip to recall the deployed turret. With my turret, I can hold an area
pretty well myself while the others cover the angles I can’t.
Nanoswarm (E) – OK check this out. Throw the grenade. When it lands, it goes quiet. Then, activate the Nanoswarm to deploy a damaging swarm of nanobots and catch the enemy crying. I love this trick!
Lockdown (Ultimate) – You’ll have to adjust your timing for the windup, but once you get this device going, it detains all enemies caught in its radius for about 8 seconds. Yeah, enemies can destroy it—except I built plenty more.
Data miner Floxay reposted Killjoy’s ability videos on his Twitter handle. Check them out below.
As leaked earlier, Killjoy will be a turret-donning agent with a lot of tech abilities to his arsenal. He does bring in some new angle to Valorant and players will surely have a new experience trying him out. Killjoy is likely to debut when Act 2 of Valorant drops.
Pro speaks up
Spencer “Hiko” Martin had his own opinions about the new agent and the route the game is taking. Hiko wasn’t really a fan of the new agent and believes the game is becoming more like Overwatch.
“If this is the route that Riot wants to go with this game then I can’t see a world where they don’t make some kind of a shield agent. Because if there is gonna be turrets and if there is gonna be agents that do ability damage and they’ve already gone back on what they said, as far as abilities not being able to kill people.

If this game is going to turn into Overwatch, there’s gonna be need to be shields.
I hate to say it, but I don’t know how they can make this game and continue to make agents that have abilities that do direct damage and not have some kind of counter to direct damage”
Hiko wants some sort of tank agents that have shields or someone with healing abilities. Damaging agents will need more healers and that will end up with the game bringing up the same.

The pro is not a fan of how Riot is doing things. During beta, the game was promised to rely more on gunplay rather than on damaging abilities. This made many take up the game as their new career, however, Riot seems to be taking a different route now.
All that said, it is unclear what Riot’s plan is. Hopefully, with 5 more agents set to drop in a year, we can expect some of the other changes.
