Although the entrance was highly adored by the fans, his costume stirred up controversy. The post-production team had to censor some parts, due to them being a little too untasteful. Although knowing the charismatic actor, fans are pretty sure all the controversy and comment about his behavior didn’t bother him much.

Director says Chris Pratt was the perfect choice for the role

Ever since the announcement of the movie, the fanbase had very mixed opinions about the cast of the main character, Mario. In previous adaptations, the plumber bros were depicted as having Italian accents in their dialect. That is why casting an American actor for the role wasn’t supported by the audience.

However, the creators of the movie, Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath shared that Pratt was the perfect choice for the role. “He’s really good at playing a blue-collar hero with a ton of heart. For the way that Mario is characterized in our film, he’s perfect for it,” said the team behind the adaptation.
