The Aquaman fame Jason Momoa’s all set to star in Warner Bros.’ upcoming live-action movie based on Minecraft. Moreover, he’s likely to play the role of “Steve”, who’s Minecraft’s main protagonist. In fact, the fans have also compared Jason with Tom Holland and Chris Pratt for this role. And widely popular for directing “Napoleon Dynamite” and “Nacho Libre”, Jared Hess will direct the upcoming film.

Moreover, many producers will contribute to the movie. Speaking of, Mary Parent, Roy Lee, and the late Jill Messick are the chief producers. And Jill will get a posthumous credit for her contributions prior to her 2018 demise. The other executive producers include Jon Berg, Cale Boyter, and Jon Spaihts. In fact, the Minecraft developers, Mojang Studios, will also produce it via Lydia Winters and Vu Bui.

Moreover, it seems like the movie’s already under production. But, its exact plot and storyline are still unknown. Considering Minecraft’s action and Jason Momoa’s versatility, the film’s expected to feature heavy action with a pinch of light comedy. And Warner Bros. is yet to announce further details.

Minecraft movie and fans react to Jason Momoa getting cast in it

Minecraft movie is an old project that has faced multiple delays since its 2014 announcement. Surprisingly, many renowned movie directors have joined and left the project. Speaking of, in 2014, the “Night at the Museum” and “Free Guy” director, Shawn Levy, was to direct it. But in 2015, “Mythic Quest” director, Rob McElhenney, joined the project as its director. And in 2016, Warner Bros set the release date to 2019. Moreover, Rob McElhenney also left in 2018, and the movie was delayed again.

Surprisingly, the film was supposed to release in March 2022. But to avoid its clash with “The Batman”, Warner Bros. further postponed it. Hopefully, now everything’s on track, the film’s not likely to face any further delays.
