When Call of Duty first announced the Modern Warfare reboot, fans were quite skeptical. Worried if the game could even hold a candle to the original, 2019’s Modern Warfare did something unreal for gamers. It brought the highly popular battle royale mode Warzone, with the first-ever Warzone map Verdansk.
Four years down the line, the first Call of Duty Warzone title feels like a thing of the past. With Verdansk long gone from the game, the title found a new name: Warzone Caldera, because of the incoming map Caldera. However, Warzone Caldera, just like Verdansk, has very little time left to be the battleground for CoD fans.

More importantly, Warzone Caldera was the game that started it all. It dominated the Battle Royale market, one where Call of Duty had failed with its initial attempt. This becomes a big problem, especially when you consider the amount of money people put into buying items. There were not just content packs released for Call of Duty Warzone Caldera, but items coming in from Black Ops: Cold War, Vanguard, and the 2019 Modern Warfare. Since Warzone Caldera contained progress from all these games, not being able to carry it over to a new game essentially lets it all go to waste, as the game will permanently shut down.
