Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare II’s Battle Pass is completely different from the previous Call of Duty games. According to the makers, it will offer more better choices to the players, enabling them to select rewards based on their preference.
What is the Battle Pass system in Call of Duty Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare II Season 1?
Going by the official blog, the new Battle Pass acts like a combat map. Instead of the previous, horizontal strips of Tiered content to be unlocked, players will now see a large-scale map. To be precise, it’s called the Battle Pass Area of Operations (AO). Season 1 of Call of Duty Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare II is divided into 21 “combat sectors”, stretching from A0 (Bonus Combat Sector) to A20.
All the combat sectors are directly connected to each other. Players need to look at the Sectors adjacent to the Sector they are currently unlocking in order to progress through the new Battle Pass. Once they have unlocked all the rewards in all the sectors (from A0 to A20), they can expect to unlock a Victory Sector.
Most importantly, all the Sectors within the Battle Pass AO contain a total of 1,400 Call of Duty Points (CP). Players will earn free CP within the Battle Pass System and 1,000 more they if keep unlocking across the full BP and the Bonus Combat Sector.
All the players of Call of Duty Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare II will begin their journey in Season 01 Battle Pass at Sector A1. It doesn’t matter if they decide to stick to the free version or upgrade to have the access to the full content.
How does the Warzone 2, Modern Warfare II Battle Pass System works in Season 1?
As soon as players enter the new Battle Pass menu, they will see a highlighted reward to unlock over each Sector. This will be called the High Value Target (HVT). It will be the main item of interest within a given Sector. Selecting the HVT of a Sector will also show four other main items underneath it. These may include an emblem, a calling card, a Weapon XP token, or a weapon charm.
All the above-mentioned items need a Battle Token Tier Skip to unlock. Tier Skips can be earned by simply playing the game, just like in the previous installments. Those players who purchased the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare II will have their “Tier Skips” turned into the equivalent number of Battle Token Tier Skips (50 Tier Skips will be converted into 50 Battle Token Tier Skips).
Players can earn a maximum of 100 Battle Token Tier Skips in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare II. At the end of Season 1, they will be spent automatically if they don’t designate Sector items they wish to unlock using them. Using a Battle Token Tier Skip will unlock an item for access. The items tagged with “Free” will be available for everyone. However, full Battle Pass purchase is required to get every available item.
Moreover, five Battle Token Tier Skips are required to unlock everything (all the five items including the HVT) in a given Sector. And yes, doing so will help in moving onto the next Sector. And 100 Battle Token Tier Skips are needed to complete the Battle Pass in Season 1.
Speaking of the operators, then players who purchase the Battle Pass can get the Bonus Sector A0, containing operator Zeus. Furthermore, there will be three new Operator skins available to unlock in the Sectors A9, A11, and A18. These will include ?The Unseen? KorTac Mil-Sim, ?Ursidae? Zero, and ?Blackout? Roze respectively.
