While many might wonder the reason for Walmart singling out Xbox titles. It might probably be because Xbox’s latest Series S console is a digital-only device. Therefore, not many Xbox titles are also available in physical copies for buyers. Therefore, Walmart’s decision was probably something that was coming anyway to the fans.

Although Xbox titles are confirmed to be taken out from Walmart stores in 2024, the company has not spilled more beans about PS and PC games. Since the upcoming PS console, PS5 Slim also prioritizes digital gaming, they are offering an attachable drive for the digital version.

However, the PS5 Slim also comes with a variant with an attachable disc drive. And now that rumors hint at the Nintendo’s upcoming console being a digital-only variant, this might become a possible trend in the future. 

How lucrative Game Pass is for Xbox?
