With Gamescom 2023 in full swing, fans know that it is only a waiting game when it comes to seeing new footage for Modern Warfare III. As Call of Duty brings back-to-back Modern Warfare titles in two years, fans’ excitement to see bits of the gameplay is at an all-time high.

As Captain John Price and Task Force 141 return to carry out their work, fans have quite an interesting view on getting the new game. Following the release of the footage from Call of Duty Modern Warfare III, some fans flocked to buy the title. In general,  CoD content creators receiving mixed feedback about the game so far.

It was only a matter of time before fans got a glimpse of what Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is all about. While there were trailers about where the story would go, fans had little clue about what changes Activision planned for the title, except for some changes in the multiplayer transition.

The first look at Modern Warfare III’s gameplay showed quite a bit of promise. With mechanics such as ledge kills, Activision looks like it has changed things up when it comes to gameplay. The title carries the same punch that Modern Warfare games need, a mix of traditional combat mixed with modern requirements. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III feels like it is living up to the legacy of the name.

It will be interesting to see how the gameplay translates to multiplayer since the footage they saw came from the campaign. Fans have no clue whether the ledge kill feature will make it into multiplayer or Warzone.

Fans give mixed reactions to the new title

With the reveal of gameplay, one Call of Duty content creator quickly checked what fans thought of it and if they would be willing to buy the title at launch.

With a large chunk replying in the affirmative, it was clear fans were behind the new title. Hype for Modern Warfare III is at an all-time high, and fans have already ordered the Vault Edition for the game.

While some fans ordered the Vault Edition, others had a bone to pick. Although they agreed they would buy the game, they felt there were similar competitive titles coming out that might attract their attention. Depending on the way Call of Duty’s gameplay is, they could find themselves playing CS2 or Payday 3. The user also noted the shadow-banning incidents a lot of accounts faced in the last game.

A big chunk of fans wanted to buy the title following the reveal of gameplay footage. A fan remarked the same poll had different results in the past when fewer details were known. Additionally, after the revelation of 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 maps coming back, more fans seem on board.

While a lot of fans spoke of getting the game early, there is a chunk who want to see how the beta plays out, making the decision after they experience the game.

It seems too early for fans to decide, as they choose to be patient with pre-orders. They want to see more of the game, with bits of the Zombies mode as well as multiplayer.
