The year began with a bang when HBO amazed the world with its adaptation of the beloved gaming series, The Last of Us. This highly anticipated production featured some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Pedro Pascal, known for his role in The Mandalorian. As the actor portraying the main character, Joel, Pedro captured the hearts of fans worldwide.

The Last of Us holds immense popularity in the gaming realm, boasting a dedicated global fanbase that had high expectations for the adaptation. Initially, this fact intimidated Pedro, but he and the entire cast managed to exceed fans’ expectations, surpassing all initial fears.

During a recent Actor’s Round Table conducted by Hollywood Reporter, Pedro Pascal and veteran actor Jeff Bridges found common ground as they discussed their respective experiences working on gaming adaptations. Jeff Bridges had previously played the protagonist in the 1982 film Tron, a direct adaptation of the game of the same name.

Discussing his experience in The Last of Us, Pedro confessed that he was unaware of the game prior to landing the role. Then he went on to share interesting behind-the-scenes stories. As the conversation focused on video game adaptations, Jeff Bridges chimed in, revealing his own experience during the shoot of Tron.

“I got sucked into a video game, Tron,” Jeff exclaimed. Pedro acknowledged the 1982 film as “one of the original game adaptations.” Jeff then recounted how he and the entire production of Tron were obsessed with video games on set, as the environment was filled with arcade machines for the movie.

During their conversation, Pedro and Jeff also shared their mutual affinity for video games. Pedro expressed his connection to the “Arcade” generation, recalling spending hours playing in arcades. While he cherished his love for gaming, Pedro admitted that he is grateful he doesn’t indulge too often, as he knows he could easily become engrossed and spend all his time indoors playing games.
