While the hype is growing for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, battle royale fans are also curious to see what happens with the next iteration of Warzone. Now, the latest update will surely fill them with a new life.
Especially, those players who are still hoping for Verdansk to come back two years after it was removed. Going by a surprising leak, it looks like the beloved battle royale map might return in early 2024. In short, the iconic region, first introduced in 2019’s Modern Warfare, hasn’t really faded away from the scene – not yet. There’s more than what meets the eye at the moment.

JGOD, Repullze, Isaac, and Jdewd keep doing their podcast sessions where they discuss all things related to COD. Now, recently, a Warzone news account on X shared a clip on the social media platform. It was probably from one of the newest episodes from the pro players’ podcast show.
In the video, featured below, Repullze ends up spilling the beans on an intel connected to Verdansk. He says that Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island are not the only maps coming back to Call of Duty Warzone. That’s because the beloved map of Verdansk is also returning soon, he claimed.

JGOD intervened in between and said that the map may return with Treyarch’s new COD title next year. However, Repullze said that it’s not the case at all. He repeated that Verdansk will arrive on March 10, 2024. The date will also mark the original Warzone’s fourth anniversary.
Repullze also tried to imply that the leak has come from an insider who’s never been wrong so far. Hence, it will be interesting to see if the latest rumor turns out to be legitimate or not in March 2024. Verdansk fans will definitely have their eyes set on this day now.
What to expect from the new Warzone going forward?
It’s already known that the region of Urzikstan will act as the next battle royale map for Warzone. Earlier this month, the COD Next event revealed an extensive amount of gameplay from the upcoming title. However, it’s yet to receive a release date at the moment.

Fans will have to wait to get their hands on the new BR game. Right now, it’s expected to come out alongside the first season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The latter is going to be the brand new FPS premium from Activision in 2023.
