Fans are still not Verdansk, the beloved Warzone map. While many of them are hoping for it to come back, the iconic region is all set to make an appearance in the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Yes, it’s something that is already known. However, a new trailer has now surfaced online, giving a more unique look from the area itself.

The traditional single-player mode of Modern Warfare 3 will boast of many new elements this time. Although fans will witness a familiar narrative consisting of Task Force 141 members, the game will bring back their arch nemesis Vladimir Makarov. Now, it seems like the villain may also be connected to Verdansk, in more ways than one!

Detonated is a popular COD insider on X (formerly Twitter). He keeps sharing crucial updates based on all the games in the action series. Recently, he took to the social media platform to drop an image. Well, it happens to be a shot from the upcoming Campaign of Modern Warfare 3. Specifically, it’s taken from a recent PC trailer revealed for the game. But the major highlight here is the map itself.

As one can see in the post, above, the picture is of very high quality, to say the least. It’s showing a new area around the Verdansk Center – not previously shown in any promotional clip. Moreover, Detonated also shared a separate post while connecting the threads between the legendary map and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 villain Makarov.

The scooper tried to imply, from the trailer image, that the Verdansk mission would take place in the past. Which means, it will be a flashback quest from the year 2017. Also, the entire backstory of Makarov, before the events of 2019’s Modern Warfare, may also take place around this timeline.

It will be interesting to see how the devs will present the map in the single-player story. What’s amazing to note is that it was originally introduced in this format itself, four years ago, with the first MW title. Its very first mission ‘Fog of War’ was set in Verdansk only.

What to expect from Modern Warfare 3 upon launch?

Apart from the awaited Campaign, the game will also feature an improved Multiplayer. This year, Sledgehammer’s team has taken the responsibility of giving the fans a smooth and polished online gameplay experience. In fact, most of them have been liking it a lot in the ongoing Beta phase.

Speaking in detail, the Multiplayer setup will have a touch of nostalgia this time. A total of 16 remastered maps are coming back from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. To name a few, players will be able to revisit areas like Rust, Skidrow, Estate, Favela, Scrapyard, Derail, and Afghan among many others.

Oh, and there’s also the open-world Zombies mode too. Based on a PvE format, it will be set on the map of Urzikstan. Players will need to go against large hordes of the undead, loot items, and then extract successfully.
