Previously Marvel’s Spider-Man, which was released in 2018, brought a teaser that hinted about Peter’s best friend Harry Osborne being treated using the Venom symbiote. It was for his incurable disease. And now Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s senior narrative director revealed that the team might bring a Venom spin-off if the gamers really want it! How cool is that?

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 surely received a lot of hype since its debut trailer was released. And why wouldn’t that be? Fans were amazed with the Venom’s look. And Insomniac also didn’t hesitate to use Venom as the game’s biggest marketing stunt. As a result, from Toronto Downtown billboards to LA, fans spotted Venom almost everywhere in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s animated 3D advertisements. Certainly, this ignited the fans’ excitement thinking that Insomniac might make a Venom Spin off for its fans. 

In a recent interview with Insider, the game’s senior narrative director Jon Paquette was asked about the same. As a hopeful ray of sunshine, Paquette’s response revealed Insomniac’s focus on the fans’ requests- “So, here’s what we’re doing. We’re focused on ‘Spider-Man 2,’ and what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna wait to see how the fans react,” he said. “We’re gonna listen to the fans and we’re gonna ask ourselves, ‘Okay, what do the fans really want?”

However, he also mentioned how the team currently focuses on their vacations and sleep after putting in a lot of hard work for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. And that is fair looking at the team’s dedication to launching this PS5 exclusive. 

The making of Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Jon Paquette, the senior narrative director of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 revealed that the team relied on Venom’s story from the comics. The motive was to draw inspiration for Venom in the gameplay. The team has researched Venom’s arc in the comics. That is why they hope for a Venom-centric story someday in future.
