“US” & “Get Out” Director & Storyteller Jordan Peele Wants to Make a Video Game

Famous Hollywood director and storyteller Jordan Peele has revealed his desire to make video games. Video games, being one of the most prominent aspects of contemporary art, have caught the interest of the director Jordan Peele. Now he wants to shift his storytelling skills from movies to games. 

The story in video games has evolved ever since the arcade era. In contemporary culture, video games are deemed one of the most promising avenues for beautiful pieces of narrative and cinematographies. That is why, for an esteemed director like Jordan Peele, to show interest in this medium is very much understandable.  

Is Jordan Peele about to make video games? 

During the promotion of the Home video release of Nope, the director and the writer of the movie Jordan Peele did an interview with ComingSoon.net. In the interview, Jordan said that he has aspirations for making video games in the future.

The director had his eyes on the gaming industry for quite a while. As he was recently seen doing a podcast with the legendary game director and writer Hideo Kojima. In the podcast, both of them talked about storytelling in different mediums, like movies and video games. In this podcast, Kojima also asked Jordan if he will ever make a game. 

When Jordan was asked by Comicbook if he will ever make a game of his own, he replied by saying, “It’s funny; [Hideo Kojima] asked the same, but absolutely.” Jordan added, “I do love games. I think that they are very connected to storytelling in that I truly believe the art form is about empathy. It’s about putting yourself in somebody else’s shoes and understanding what it might feel like to be someone else. So yeah, yes is the answer.”

Other Hollywood celeb’s appearances in Video Games

Jordan is not the only prominent Hollywood entity that has shown interest in video games. Previously, big names like Kit Harington, Keanu Reeves, Willem Dafoe, Elle Fanning, and numerous others have appeared in major video game titles. Even world-renowned Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin had collaborated on the script of this year’s biggest game, Elden Ring. 

But in the end, it is not sure when or if we will ever get a game from him. But a collaboration between him and Hideo Kojima can be expected, but as both of them are busy men, the fans may have to wait quite a while before something works between them.
