Bethesda’s long-awaited interstellar action RPG, Starfield, has been the talk of the gaming world. However, its system requirements have recently been revealed, leaving gamers with more questions than answers. As we explore the specifics, it becomes clear that Starfield’s system requirements are more than just hardware specifications.
Therefore, it is essential for players to have the appropriate storage and other components in order to experience the game to its full potential.

If you want to experience the expansive and immersive world of Starfield ,you’ll need to make space for the game’s massive file size. Regardless of whether you’re running the game on Xbox Series X |S or PC, there’s no denying that Starfield will take up a significant amount of storage space.
Bethesda has confirmed that the Xbox version of Starfield will require 125GB of storage space, which is in line with the PC version’s storage requirements. In addition, the PC version of Starfield requires the game to be installed on an SSD, which is a mandatory requirement for PC players. This highlights the fact that modern storage technology is needed to cope with the data-intensive nature of Starfield.
By comparison, Starfield’s storage requirements aren’t as high as some other well-known games. It’s nowhere near the amount of space required by Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on the Xbox 360, and it’s certainly nowhere near the amount required by Cyberpunk 2077 on the Xbox One, or many iterations of Call of Duty on the Xbox 360. However, if you’re on the Xbox Series S, which has limited storage, that 125GB limit can be a real pain.
PC Requirements: Beyond the Graphics Card
Players have been eagerly awaiting the PC system specifications for Starfield, however, the announcement has come as a surprise. The RPG adventure from Bethesda requires the use of solid-state drive (SSD) storage, thus eliminating mechanical hard drives as a viable option. The basic storage requirement for Starfield is 125GB of available space, which may come as a surprise to some. Those who have been building their PC systems for years with smaller SSDs may need to upgrade their storage to meet the requirements of Starfield.
In addition to memory, the game’s recommended hardware specs include a variety of components. Minimum requirements specify support for Intel’s 6th generation i7 processors, or more recent i5 options. Minimum GPU specs are set at AMD’s RX 5700, and NVIDIA’s GTX 1070 Ti. To run the game efficiently, you’ll need at least 16GB of RAM. Higher overheads are recommended if you’re willing to push the graphical limits of the game.
Here is the Minimum and Recommended specs as per on Steam:
