Universal Studios Cashes In on Super Nintendo World Hype as New Colors Come to Life

Nintendo has been riding high on the success of its recent releases in this year. From Pokemon Legends: Arceus to Switch Sports, the Japanese giant has managed to hold its ground in terms of offering stunning games.

However, the Mario maker is not only working on launching new titles right now. It’s also working hard on a very huge project at the moment that will make its official reveal next year. Yes, we are talking about the Super Nintendo World that will soon be unveiled to the American fans of Nintendo.

Super Nintendo World development at the Universal Studios Hollywood is going very smooth!

Earlier this year in March, Universal Studios Hollywood surprised everyone with a massive announcement on their official Twitter account. On the eve of Mario Day, they shared the news about bringing the fun experience of Super Nintendo World to the US. The theme park was originally opened in Japan in 2021.

Based on the celebrated franchises from Nintendo, but primarily Mario, the theme park became an instant hit with the visitors in the Japanese region. Following its huge success, the Mario maker eventually decided to have it in the United States as well. Now the fans in America will also get to experience the amazing virtual environment and adventures of this theme park.

Recently, a popular YouTuber from the channel Theme Park Obsession, visited the Universal Studios Hollywood. He noticed that the construction work on the structure was going in full swing at the moment. In his video, the YouTuber mentioned new progress that can be seen in the clip quite clearly.

As you can see, the Studio Store is also open again with tons of Super Nintendo World stuff on display. Interested fans who are planning to visit the theme park can go to this store and buy a lot of Mario and Luigi merchandise. For example, there are pins inspired by Mario and Luigi, Mario Kart T-shirts, and Mario-Luigi caps. The green tubes are also now installed in the store.

One more important thing to note is that there will be no discount offered on any of the merchandise. Which means Nintendo wants to take full price from the customers. Well, the available items do look worth their values, so it’s not going to be a problem for sure.

Speaking of the Super Nintendo World itself, the work on the theme park is moving fast. The Piranha plants are now uncovered for taking the plastic off them. It basically means that the development might be nearing the programming stage for animating the figures. Because in general, the theme park has tons of moving pieces as seen in the Japanese version.

The scaffolding in the entrance portal has been taken down, giving a more clear look on the front entry point. On the other hand, the green tubes might start popping in the next few weeks. All things considered, fans are in for a major treat when the theme park opens early in 2023.
