Epic Games’ one-of-its-kind first-person shooter title, Fortnite, is commonly known for its unique take on the traditional battle royale. Interestingly, the game also offers a paid traditional PVE Campaign mode, Save The World.

Now, Epic Games might have some rather surprising news for all Fornite-rs. The latest patch v18.40 has drastically changed a few key mechanics, enabling the popular mode to contribute to the battle pass.

Players can now earn XP for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 battle pass by completing missions in Save The World. Each mission in the completed mission will reward players with accolades and badges that will determine the total XP gained.

Additionally, campaign mode grinders can also earn the much-required XP by defeating husks, exploring the entire map, looting items, and crafting their own weaponry. Side quests and missions will also help with the same.

Save The World: Selectable game mode?

While Epic tries to shine some light on its paid PVE campaign, new reports suggest the devs may have plans to add the mode to the battle royale.

The mode was originally planned to be added as a free-to-play feature to the game. However, the devs decided to launch the full version as a pay-to-play attribute.

Now, a Fortnite leaker on Twitter hints Save The World could be added as “a new selectable game mode.” Given STW is already a part of the game, this would only the door open for Epic to somehow add it to the traditional Battle Royale.
