According to the upgraded policies, streamers in the Partner Plus program will receive a 70/30 revenue share on net subscription revenue. This includes the revenue from monthly subscriptions and gift subscriptions. Partners must maintain a subscriber count of at least 350 recurring paid subscribers for three consecutive months. The main reason for the mixed fan reactions to the announcement is the eligibility criteria required to get to the 70 percent profit share.
Too Late For Redemption? Here’s How The Community Feels
With a lot of confused emotions, the new policies have been the trending topic in the community. The strategists at Twitch are aware of how the past few months have taken away most of the traffic from the platform to its rivals like Kick. Fans speculated on such new adaptive policies as they believed this was about time.
“So now you have to be a partner just to get the 50/50 split, and Partner + to get 70/30 since y’all been taking more than 50% from streamers lately? Or are you not ready to have that discussion?”, a frustrated user replies to the announcement.
