Is Elon Musk eyeing the streaming industry with X? In his post, the X boss has shared a glimpse of himself playing Diablo IV. While the world is aware of his love for Diablo IV, this latest tweet has taken the internet by storm for a different reason altogether. The buzz around X’s streaming platform has caught fire again as the launch of Kick and Twitch’s ultimate rival might be imminent. 

There were constant rumors running around the next big venture of X since Elon Musk took over the platform formerly known as Twitter. Moreover, the changes the social media platforms have been subjected to over the past few months were a direct hint of a major turnaround in the approach of the platform. Well, we finally have a visual glimpse of what the highly awaited streaming service would look like!

Musk had suggested in June of this year that he was thinking about entering the live video game streaming market. Twitch had just implemented new guidelines that directly impacted streamers who made money from branded content the day before Musk’s response to a post on X that hinted at the same. After that, a lot of gamers stopped streaming and switched to alternatives like Facebook Live and YouTube Gaming.

The success of Diablo IV has inspired a lot of gaming creators, but Elon Musk seems to be the most influenced by Blizzard Entertainment’s masterpiece. The fourth installment of the franchise has Elon Musk hooked. There have been plenty of public confessions by the entrepreneur expressing his admiration for the game. Thus, it seemed like a perfect choice to tease the first-ever visuals of the X streaming service.

Apparently, the competition was mostly between these two industrial giants until now. Although, the initial visuals of the X streaming service aren’t of an ideal quality, but seem promising enough. Sharing the gameplay of Diablo IV, Musk wrote, Tested the 𝕏 video game streamer system last night. It works! Will try to complete a Tier 100 Nightmare dungeon tonight live on this platform.”

As exciting as this news is for gaming enthusiasts, it might have just struck a tense chord in the Kick and Twitch offices. 

What would this mean for the current streaming giants?

Twitch has dominated the mainstream streaming industry for a long while. However, things started to change for the Amazon-owned platform when Kick witnessed a phenomenal spike in traffic. A lot of this increasing Kick popularity is attributed to Twitch’s controversial streak of policy changes. 

Twitch had failed to convince its users of the alleged anti-creator policy. So a lot of big names decided to switch to Kick as the mainstream streaming platform. Ever since then, both platforms have shared an intense rivalry that also involved some famous online banters.

Overall, the introduction of X in the streaming industry would mark a new chapter in ongoing streaming platform rivalry. And with Elon Musk being associated with the upcoming streaming service, the long-running dominance of these two giants could certainly under threat.
