Twitch has become a hot topic of discussion since the last week. Previously, the platform was facing backlash for the gambling streams and after the increasing pressure from the community, it came out with a solution to the situation. However, it looks like the Twitch execs can’t catch a break, especially after the reveal of a new revenue share split system, to be implemented soon for the streamers.

Top creators like Valkyrae, Ludwig, and Asmongold have gone all-guns-blazing over Twitch for introducing new revenue share split changes. Ever since the news was shared officially, many people are continuously criticizing the platform.
Valkyrae blames ads on Twitch for its downfall
In a letter on the official blog, Twitch President Dan Clancy revealed the big changes being made for the platform. He emphasized on the importance of the creators and how they have contributed to Twitch’s enormous success in the last few years.
“Streamers are and always will be the foundation of our global community. It’s your passion, hard work, and creativity that make Twitch the one-of-a-kind place it is,” he said. In the blog, Mr. Clancy also revealed the upcoming modifications in the revenue share split for the content creators, effective from June 2023.

As soon as the news spread across the internet like wildfire, highly established streamers came forward to express their disappointment and angst. Valkyrae was also among the critics of the latest announcement made by Twitch for the revenue share policy.
The outrage just keeps on escalating!
100 Thieves co-owner and Fortnite gamer Valkyrae took to her Twitter account while slamming Twitch officials. “Twitch greeds for profit. Killing your viewerbase w/ more ads & hurting the backbone of your company, the creators,” she wrote. Simply put, she blamed the growing urge of the platform to impose more ads in the streams while taking away the opportunity from the creators to earn better.

Asmongold also lashed out at Twitch’s team for the latest decision. He also wrote in his tweet that “excessive adds are killing” the platform.

All things considered, it looks like none of the highly recognized creators are impressed with what Twitch is doing as of now. The recent step against gambling also didn’t gain a favorable response from many people in the community. And now another controversial change revealed by the execs will only make things worse going forward.
