On June 5, 2023, streaming platform Twitch released its new and updated guidelines and TOS. The fresh changes will be effective on the platform from July 1. However, the Amazon-owned company received backlash on Twitter as content creators were highly disappointed by it. Previously, they had lodged complaints about the unfair TOS, hoping that Twitch would make changes in the coming one.
Sadly, things are not in order, as the streaming platform has further ruined the situation. So, top creators joined hands to threaten to leave the platform effective immediately.

Previously, Twitch streamers complained about low revenue split, limitations of content, and bans without actual reasons. So, to respond to the requests the Amazon-owned brand decided to revamp things for them. However, their terms became worse as they pulled out in-stream ads, restricted logo length, kept the same revenue split, and more.
And one main thing that irked fans was the termination clause. In point 6.4, the statement read, “If you terminate this agreement, a maintenance fee will be deducted from your remaining balance. The maintenance fee will be lesser than the accrued program fees for your Twitch channel or $25.”
Looking at this, many creators protested as they threatened to leave the platform. Popular YouTuber MrBeast took a dig with a harsh tweet, saying, “If Youtube did this sh*t I’d lose my mind.” However, the post was deleted later, with Jimmy adding on to new ones with fellow creators.
Asmongold said, “I don’t say it lightly but I think this is a legitimate situation where streamers should consider boycotting Twitch or moving to other platforms. Making common and harmless forms of advertisement literally against ToS so Twitch can monopolize more of streamers’ income.” And then, more participants jumped in, talking about the same. Here’s what they said.

This is garbage.
Imagine working hard af to draw in sponsors, brand deals, and other advertiser driven campaigns to a platform like Twitch and now having to abide by the following AD restrictions.

Hey @Twitch how about instead of handicapping what creators make, you help them make more? Seems more logical.
