A Twisted Metal TV series is here and fans are excited to see how the chaotic game has been given life by the creators. In a recent podcast, wrestling star Samoa Joe talked about his love for the video game and the challenges he faced taking up the role of Sweet Tooth from the show.
The highly popular PlayStation-based video game was first released in 1995. Since then, there have been multiple titles with various developers contributing to the franchise. For many gamers from the 90’s this vehicular combat game has become a thing of nostalgia. So it’s really of no wonder that Samoa Joe feels ecstatic depicting a major character from the game in the upcoming comedy TV series.

In a PlayStation podcast episode, the former TNT champion talked about how he loved portraying the “chaotic and wild” Sweet Tooth from the franchise. The host asked Joe how it feels to start off his acting career with such a notorious character. Joe admitted it’s great to have the character under his belt. Joe admitted it has been a fun start to his silver screen journey with Sweet Tooth.
Joe revealed that he has friends at PlayStation, who have also been a fan of Joe’s wrestling for over a decade. Joe further revealed that the proposal for Sweet Tooth came only hours after his release from the WWE. While he was brainstorming for hi his career move, the phone call came unexpectedly asking him if he was interested in working as Sweet Tooth and Joe did not need much convincing either. As a long-time Twisted Metal fan, we understand the ease of accepting such a role as well!

The host also was curious to know how Joe’s in-ring actions helped him to adapt to Sweet Tooth’s role. Joe also said that it definitely helped. He said that in the ring professional wrestlers learn how to showcase their emotions and that has been helpful for him to depict a character like Sweet Tooth on screen as well. His in-ring antics carried over to the role and that has been a boon, Joe admitted.

Joe also made some statements where he said he now views pro wrestlers and actors as kind of long-lost brothers who do similar stuff for a living. His physicality also allowed him to improvise on multiple occasions which made Sweet Tooth all the more intense.
