God of War 2019 really brought the long-running series on the map of players who care for more heartfelt stories. The new emotional fatherly avatar of Kratos played by Christopher Judge really spoke to players and the critics.

Then the sequel was released this year and the players got a story that exceeded the 2018 game in every way; story, music, and performance. It went on to be the fastest-selling PlayStation first-party title ever, and the fastest-selling game in the whole series.
People now want a God of War movie
Now that the game is successfully exceeding everyone’s expectations in every way, people have started comparing it to The Last of Us series. Some say that it delivers an even more meaningful tale than The Last of Us.
And this comparison has led to players wondering if a live-action adaptation of the series is developed based on God of War games, who would be Kratos? Some say it should be the game’s original voice actor Christopher Judge, while others say it should be the famous WWE star Triple H.

Fans have been having these debates ever since God of War 2018 launched. People were already talking about casting Triple H as Kratos in a movie in 2020.
Live-action adaptations of video games are becoming a thing
Sony has been working closely with various studios to develop live-action series on their franchises. There was news earlier this year that Amazon might have partnered with Sony in this venture.
There has been a notion earlier that the series and movies based on video games do not work. But recently released movies such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Detective Pikachu have changed the minds of gamers about live-action adaptations of video games.

And this streak of successful video game-based content might continue in 2023 too. Super Mario Bros. Movie, Borderlands which is based on the popular first-person shooter series, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves based on the popular tabletop RPG series, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 are already confirmed to be in development and some are almost ready to release.
