The gaming industry has seen some of the most controversial lawsuits and legal matters being sorted out in court in the past few years, and the year 2022 is somewhat proving to be true as well in the same light. This is because of the fact that the Fortnite maker Epic games has been legally obliged by the Federal Trade Commission to pay millions on the front for its past designs of Fortnite payments.
This is also becoming a huge game of tug-of-war for the Fortnite makers, as they are constantly being pulled to the court by Apple pay even though the former already lost a case in the court a few months ago. Thus it has been a solid case of falling inside its own pit, that has been bothering Epic games for years now.

Most of the 2022 year has been a real pain in the neck for Epic Games as they lost a payment-related case against Apple, which they filed themselves to stop the latter to create a monopoly in the online payment market. Thus, when the Federal Trade Commission, aka the FTC, comes into the scene, it seems that Epic Games has been in more troubled waters.
According to a recent report by Fortnite content creator and insider, Shiina, Epic Games is asked by FTC to pay up to $520 million, as a fine for its previous designs of Fortnite’s Item Shop and Refund systems. Notably, almost half of the money, approx. $240 million will be paid back to players.
