Treyarch’s Call of Duty 2024 Will Have Exfils in Round-Based Zombies, Claims New Leak

While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies is keeping players busy, a lot of players are already looking forward to next year. Why? It’s because players are expecting a new Black Ops installment from Treyarch in 2024. Now, a wild leak has suggested that players will get to experience an intriguing experience when it comes to COD 2024’s round-based zombies mode.

The ongoing installment focuses more on the format of PvE while requiring the players to make infiltrations. After completing key contracts and looting items in the large open-world map, they have to make successful extractions. On the other hand, next year’s rumored Black Ops will seemingly bring back the round-based format.

Call of Duty 2024, aka Black Ops 5, rumored to have Exfils in round-based zombies!

In Modern Warfare Zombies, the plot focuses on exploring the map and clearing out the undead. The mission ties in to the bigger zombies storyline of Dark Aether. It involves the characters of John “Soap” MacTavish, Ravenov, Kate Laswell, Selma Greene, and Dr. Ava Jansen.

Now speaking of Call of Duty 2024, it’s rumored to have a round-based mode once again. Treyarch’s Black Ops installments have been known for such modes in recent years. So it’s obvious for players to get back on the round-based structure. However, there will be a new change arriving with next year’s game.

According to MWIIIIntel’s recent post on X (formerly Twitter), it seems like Call of Duty 2024 will also have the option to Exfil after completing round-based zombie modes. Which means players will get to have elements of MWZ as it also includes the format of extracting out in the end.

For the uninitiated, 2020’s Black Ops Cold War also had an outbreak mode where one had to make Exfils. But it was more in line with Modern Warfare 3 Zombies. However, round-based modes are generally termed as classic ever since the first Zombies experience was unveiled more than a decade ago.

Basically, these modes require players to survive as many rounds as possible while exploring a given map. Plus, each map tends to have its own storyline too. Black Ops Cold War also had round-based modes, with three unique maps. They were called Die Maschine, Firebase Z, and Mauer der Toten. In terms of the storyline, they were connected to the character named Grigori Weaver.

Coming back to Call of Duty 2024, it’s rumored to be called Black Ops Gulf War. Its story will reportedly continue the events of Cold War while also bringing back the beloved zombies experience. The Campaign is said to have elements of land and aerial combat. However, one should take the title of the game with a grain of salt for now, unless Treyarch reveals a substantial update.
