Nintendo has been on a golden run so far in this year as its biggest offerings have delivered quite well in the last three months. After Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the recent success of Kirby and the Forgotten Land has been an icing on the cake.
But the streak of surprises is not over just yet, because Nintendo is about to bring something huge. Yes, there won’t be a Zelda 2 reveal in 2022, still there are various options for players to stay engaged as they wait for the sequel.

A Nintendo Direct may reveal huge titles in summer for 2022!
Following the recent announcement of the Zelda sequel getting pushed by a year, there’s been an unrest among the fans. And Nintendo must be aware of this situation already. Thus, it will have to deliver a lot this calendar in the absence of the highly anticipated next Zelda entry.
Well it seems like there might be plans going on already to come out with several reveals. At least, theoretically it looks possible that Nintendo may organize its next Direct during the time of summer. Since there are rumors and reports that E3 is not happening in the month of June. So it’s likely to see a replacement in the form of Nintendo’s own event.
And if that happens, the developer and publisher can do lots of things to gain the attention of the fans. It can reveal a trailer for the next Fire Emblem Warriors while also having an option to announce a fresh Mario game. The latter makes more sense as well since there’s already a movie coming out in December based on the iconic gaming character.
Then there is of course the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that will serve as the perfect surprises in a Nintendo Summer Direct. Especially, Scarlet and Violet, because it’s yet to receive a full gameplay or overview trailer. If the company decides to drop something based on the upcoming title, fans will surely love it.

Coming back to the Mario game, then it should be the priority for Nintendo in case it comes up with an event in the summer. It will act as the right replacement for Zelda 2 as well. Simply because the latter was supposed to release during Holiday 2022. So in its absence, a Mario title’s debut will be sweet to say the least, combined with its big screen adaptation’s theatrical arrival.
What are your thoughts on this possibility? Do you think there will be a Summer Direct this June?
