The Nintendo Switch is over six years old now, and over these six years, this console has gathered a library of some very exciting games. Many are talking about how this console is past its prime and anticipating the launch of a successor in the coming year.

From its impressive library, let’s take a look at some of the games that we would love to play on that more powerful successor. If Nintendo decides to make this upcoming console backward compatible, of course.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Is Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s inclusion on this list even a surprise? The game is, in fact, one of the best-looking titles on the Nintendo Switch.

Its scale and its gameplay elements sometimes cause the frame rate to dip below the desired mark. It would be interesting to see how the increased power of the Nintendo Switch 2 helps this game.

Luigi’s Mansion 3

Super Mario Bros. hardly go their separate ways. But the Luigi’s Mansion series puts these brothers far away from each other. Mario is often missing, and it is upon his brother Luigi to find him. Besides having a quirky concept, these games also stand out visually.

They look like those perfect animated movies with Luigi and the ghosts giving lifelike expressions. Let’s hope the next Nintendo Switch accelerates the visual fidelity of this title.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

It’s a game that is set in a world that is basically two ancient giants fighting each other. This line can give anyone unaware of this series an idea of its scale. The games have insane visual fidelity, and it’s a shame that they never reach their full potential on the underpowered Nintendo Switch.

Here’s hoping the upcoming console allows this game to shine the way it deserves to.

Doom Eternal

The latest installment in Bethesda’s popular Doom series made its way to the Nintendo Switch a while ago. The console handled this game commendably too, but something was missing.

Doom games are best enjoyed at a framerate of 60 fps. If this new console somehow manages to run this game at 60 on the go, it would instantly make this game the best shooter on Switch.

The Witcher 3

People to this day cannot believe that The Witcher 3 works on the Nintendo Switch. But the game leaves its fans wanting with its laggy framerate. A visual downgrade can be tolerated if the game itself works well enough; in this case, it does not.

Let’s hope CD Projekt Red finds a way to fix this if this game runs on Switch 2.

Of course, all this would only be possible if Nintendo Decided to make the Nintendo Switch 2 backward compatible with its predecessor. Here’s hoping this is exactly what they would do for the sake of their huge fanbase.
