In this episode, while exploring the mall, Riley and Ellie come across a bunch of arcade cabinets, and they instantly start dueling against each other in a Mortal Kombat cabinet. This is not a completely original thing. In fact, it’s a reference to the game.

In the game, these two friends actually do not play Mortal Kombat II but a game highly referencing it named The Turning.
