The Nintendo Switch is currently one of the best-selling consoles of all time. And even though a successor is already on the way for this console, it’s still selling like hotcakes.

And this kind of popularity does not come without some really good games. No doubt, the Nintendo Switch has a bunch of exclusives. But there are also a bunch of third-party story-based titles that can be enjoyed on this hybrid console. Here are a few of them.

1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Of course, Witcher 3 is on this list when it comes to the top titles of Nintendo Switch. Fans everywhere know that when it comes to a story-based role-playing game, there are few games better than Witcher 3. With hours of story content and side quests that give players choices that affect the main story’s ending in the long run, this game just keeps on giving.

And who can forget the equally fleshed-out DLCs? It was completely worth it.

2. Red Dead Redemption

It came too late for the Nintendo Switch, but it did arrive, and fans are loving it. Rockstar Games’s 2010 classic is considered one of the best open-world role-playing games out there. It has a world that’s still a pleasure to explore, even after around 13 years since its initial launch.

And let’s not forget the reason for this game being on this list: a very well-written and well-acted story.

3. Wolfenstein The New Colossus

Ever wondered how this world would be if Hitler won World War II? This game answers that question, and it answers it in style. A first-person shooter with the feel of a Quentin Tarantino movie. Dialogues, voice acting, everything would remind you of Inglorious Bastards. But there’s much more to this game than just a good story; it also has fast-paced, exciting gameplay.

If nothing else, players get to literally kill Hitler in this game.

4. Octopath Traveler

Just when gamers thought the era of turn-based JRPGs was long gone, Square Enix released Octopath Traveler. A game that tells the story of not one but eight protagonists. All of them are on their own personal missions, and it is up to the player to decide which one to tackle and when.

And all this is presented in beautiful pixel art.

5. Persona 5 Royal

Yet another JRPG, but this time a more modern game with a story that players would feel better connected to. All because it is set in a modern world, and its antagonists are people who seem very time-appropriate.

A school teacher with a very bad agenda, a corporation with its own evil plans—it’s nothing if it’s not relatable.
