Whenever a new Call of Duty is released every year, players try to learn all the best ways to harness the latest weapons, equipments, unique strategies, and much more. That’s the exact same case with 2022’s Modern Warfare II as well. However, when it comes to the pro players who compete in tournaments like CDL, they have got some issues this time, especially with the usage of sniper rifles.

So much so, that a few of the top competitive players of Call of Duty League have reportedly agreed to ban snipers from the league. At least it appears to be the situation after several prominent CDL pros came out together for GA-ing snipers ahead of the Major 1 Qualifiers. On the other hand, the CoD community, along with some reputed professionals, are against this approach.

Call of Duty fans are disappointed as Modern Warfare II pro players GA snipers ahead of CDL Major 1 Qualifiers

LA Thieves’ Sam ‘Octane’ Larew recently shared a tweet regarding his disliking for the use of sniper rifles in a competitive league like CDL. Furthermore, he also mentioned that some of the pro players, including him, have reportedly agreed to GA (gentlemen’s agreements) snipers completely from the upcoming season of the league, starting on December 2.

Few other pros also agreed with his argument of banning snipers, especially when it comes to the modes like Search and Destroy. According to them, snipers nowadays get an unfair advantage.

However, there were other prominent names from the competitive space who didn’t seem to agree on GA-ing snipers from the Call of Duty League season of Modern Warfare II. 100 Thieves’ Nadeshot posted several tweets in which he expressed his thoughts.

He wrote that taking away snipers from the games will ruin all the fun because fans also love watching crazy sniping during matches.

A similar sentiment was echoed by 100 Thieves’ co-owner Jack “CouRage” Dunlop as well. Here’s what he wrote while slamming the pro players who want to ban snipers from the league.

It looks like the majority of the fans also want the snipers in CDL. As soon as this topic spread across social media, most of the people from the gaming community came up with their reactions. And it’s quite obvious to say that they don’t support the argument of the pros who have reportedly agreed to GA snipers entirely in the upcoming Modern Warfare II Major 1 Qualifiers.

“The cdl complains so much about viewership and why nobody watches…well this is why. Too many cry babies in the league and it’s so boring to watch with a two gun meta,” wrote one frustrated fan.
