Mafia Trilogy features one of the most brilliant and eye-catching crime stories of all time. Although the three games in the Mafia series are connected in a way, they don’t form a cohesive story, so players are free to enjoy them in any order they wish.

Furthermore, players are bound to fall in love with the in-game characters because of the amazing storyline. Although Mafia Trilogy features a fantastic crime story, some people criticize it for the lack of in-game actions.

9. theHunter: Call of the Wild

Despite being totally opposite to GTA titles, there’s one common factor in both video games, which is cars. This is one of the reasons that most GTA fanatics would love to try BeamNG. Drive as it let the user test their driving skills with no holdback.

Mad Max is an action-adventure video game based on the famous Mad Max franchise. It is known for focusing on vehicles, and interestingly, the game also took the same approach. Furthermore, some players also believe that Mad Max surpasses GTA titles in terms of hand-to-hand combat.

Just Cause 3 has the best mechanics, combat systems, and physics; moreover, its graphics wouldn’t disappoint any GTA fanatic as well.

5. Red Dead Redemption 2

It’s no surprise that after the GTA series, Rockstar Games is known for its Red Dead Redemption series. Furthermore, it takes players back to the cowboy era, which is quite entertaining and different from what GTA games offer.

Not to mention, a huge selling point was the level of detail that developers put into RDR2’s environments. It let users travel through the different settlements and wilderness trails that populate the map of New Austin.

4. Saints Row 3 Remastered

Saints Row: The Third Remastered gives players control of the Saints at the height of their power. Moreover, it’s very similar to Grand Theft Auto franchise in terms of all aspects. From characters to action gameplay, Saints Row offers a lot to the table.

Despite being a perfect crime-based video game, it lacks amazing graphics in comparison to the latest GTA game. However, the remastered version has made players question their choices. Since all the character and weapon models have been remade from scratch, many veterans couldn’t resist trying it out.

3. Sleeping Dogs

Sleeping Dogs is the closest game to the GTA series in terms of mechanics. The only difference between the two titles is players fight their way through crimes in a different location, that is Asia.

Moreover, Sleeping Dogs also surpasses the GTA titles when it comes to combat. The combat style is quite similar to Batman: Arkham City, which attracts more users’ attention to the game.

2. Watch Dog Legion

Watch Dog Legion features a densely packed and moderately sized map that is varied and fun to explore. The game takes many strides forward in terms of graphics, gameplay, and world-building. Despite being a fun and great world-building game, it was not as successful as the developers intended.

1. Payday 2

Apart from vehicles and serious action gameplay, the GTA series is also known for its amazing heists. Several fans love the heist mechanics and it’s one of the reasons for the franchise’s success. If you are a big fan of heists, then Payday 2 is the best choice for you.
