Nintendo Switch launched back in March 2017, and ever since its launch, the console has left behind the PlayStation 4 in sales, becoming the third most-selling console of all time.
Over the years, the console has won a number of fans, defeating consoles that are considered way more powerful. It has even successfully earned the respect of a number of developers and publishers who had previously overlooked Nintendo’s consoles. And now since it is officially six years old, so here we will talk about a bunch of things we appreciate about this hybrid console.

The Nintendo Switch has had people’s attention from day one. It offered its owners a unique kind of freedom, letting them take their games wherever they want.
And the biggest thing that fans learned to love about the Nintendo Switch was its portability. Being able to play home console quality games on the go is still something out of this world.
Then came the Joy-Cons. They were small, yet functional. Nintendo removed its signature plus-shaped directional pad for one with different buttons. The controller still complimented the console greatly. They are also removable and allow for couch co-op sessions without the need for an extra controller.
Nintendo’s implementation of rumble was something out of the box too! HD Rumble is what they called it. When you did something in the game, you actually felt it in your hands. This feature was greatly used in games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and 1-2-Switch.
Nintendo saw potential in the Switch, and they decided to support it better than they ever supported a console before. This support led to the release of a number of surprising titles to Switch. Games like The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and Metroid Dread were so unexpected that fans never even thought they needed those games.

And every single one of them was perfect; Luigi’s Mansion 3 remains to this day one of the best-looking games on the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Switch completing its six-year life cycle and ending it on the way to its seventh is not something many people thought was possible. The console’s specs were seen as its biggest drawback, but it appears Nintendo knew well enough how to make it work, and they did. They even released three revisions of this console, one in internals and two complete re-hauls.
Fans are not surprised by this achievement!
While there were naysayers, there are still people who are in full support of the Nintendo Switch. And they are not surprised even a bit that this console has made it so far. Many people can be seen showing praise for Switch, while some are also asking Nintendo for an upgrade.
