Battlefield 2042 has been an absolute mess of a release and this fact is not even hidden from anyone, anymore. However, EA has to make everything right following this debacle. And it seems like the publisher may have already begun working on a new project altogether.
According to Tom Henderson, the trusted insider, the next Need for Speed game is said to be in the early development stage right now. In one of his latest tweets, he revealed this big leak. However, the fans had completely different thoughts to share on this scoop. Especially coming after their miserable experience with Battlefield 2042.

Fans are hopeless after Battlefield 2042
When BF 2042 was first announced last year, it created immense hype among the fans of the action series. They were excited to see the next major entry in the now-iconic saga.
Not only that, Battlefield 2042’s development even involved other studios as well, apart from the main entity in DICE. Ripple Effect Studios, EA Gothenburg, and Criterion Games played crucial roles in its overall completion. In fact, Criterion had to put the next Need for Speed on hold due to this game, since it was one of the assisting studios.
But the entire enthusiasm turned out to be a massive disappointment, following the launch of Battlefield 2042 last year in November. The majority of the players, so far, have disliked the title due to various bugs and gameplay mechanics.
Following such a disastrous journey with the game, fans seem to have become cautious about any new Electronic Arts project in the future. And it looks like that’s the case as well, at the moment, at least going by the reaction to the recent leak from Tom Henderson.
As soon he dropped the news of Codemasters Cheshire coming up as the supported studio for Criterion, for the new Need for Speed, frustrated users came up with their reactions.
“This seems terrible for Codemasters,” wrote one angry fan.
So when they pulled criterion from NFS to work on BF it has now effected the NFS development and they have had to drag in another studio NICE! I'll stay away from this one till after launch ain't getting bit twice by EA

Hopefully makes a difference in the final product quality. Unlike 2042

👏 glad they're getting the support. Last year criterion had2help 2042 😐.
Hope they make it this year. Even if it's cross-gen (which it probably will be), I'll still be very happy. Heat didn't receive any upgrade & with my PC being dead lol I can't just play any NFS at 30+ fps.
