More than two years after its initial release, Cyberpunk 2077 is ready to release brand new DLC. The game was first released in December 2020, however Sony has to pull the game due to massive issues. Now, developer CD Projekt RED has mostly patched and fixed the game, so it is no longer suffering from the game-breaking issues it had on release.
This DLC, named “Phantom Liberty”, will offer a brand-new setting, and characters, continuing the story from the base game. Most fans are ecstatic with this news. But some are unhappy, lamenting that the content that is promised in the new DLC should have been in the main game during its release.

Fans are looking forward to the upcoming content, but they haven’t forgotten its massively erroneous initial release. When released, the game was a technical nightmare, and had almost been deemed unplayable by many fans. It was missing critical features, had visual defects, game-breaking crashes, and AI issues. Many fans had even claimed that the game is ‘unplayable.’
CD Projekt announced the new content on their official Twitter page. It will be available to play during the Summer Games Fest on 8 June 2023. As the anticipation builds for the upcoming DLC, fans of Cyberpunk 2077 prepare for a new chapter in the grim, dark sci-fi world.

Fans react to the news of the upcoming DLC content
Some fans had hopes that the Phantom Liberty DLC will be a free addition like the recent Edgerunners DLC, but CD Projekt have clarified in an interview with GamesRadar that it will be a paid expansion. Its exact price is yet to be announced, but eager fans can expect updates on the release and pricing soon.
This news was a blow to the fans who believed the content should have been included in the base game without an additional cost. However, the dedicated Cyberpunk community swiftly came to its defense, explaining that Phantom Liberty serves as an enhancement to the main story, and should not be free.
Here’s a look at some of these reactions:

The way you decided to write that and the language you chose to use says alot about you. The devs really, really don't care nor make the games specifically for people like you. Try having more respect next time.

I can already tell it ain't gonna be worth the price
