we are excited to say that PS5 QE will now run at 4K 60FPS with seamless gameplay fully using UE5 Lumen; originally the game was 2K but we managed to optimize and push things even further to our original…— QUANTUM ERROR (@Quantum_Error) September 4, 2023
Not only that, the team announced that Quantum Error has been developed on the famous Unreal Engine 5 Lumen. The developers also spoke about how they originally created the game for a 2K display.
However, going beyond their limits, the team optimized things and improved the visuals of the game. As a result, fans can finally use their Dual-sense controllers and put their 3D headsets on to dive into the world of an amazing survival horror narrative.
Fans share their excitement after hearing the latest Quantum Error news
Although the project was announced back in 2020, TeamKill Media delayed it further due to the pandemic. Now that the developers have officially announced a significant improvement in visuals for PlayStation 5 users, fans are excited about the title’s release. One fan said, “This is turning into one my most anticipated games this year can’t wait.”
Following the news, fans curiously asked whether the title was offering a reconstructed or upscaled 4K. However, they also mentioned that if the final result offers 4 K-like visuals, they are totally cool with it.
I guess it's reconstructed or upscaled 4K, but if the final image looks 4K-ish enough, then it's no problem.
But I'm curious as to why Lumen & Nanite have such a high toll on UE5 games performance on consoles that forces them to render at native 1080p, 720p and even under.

Some people also commented about how they thought Quantum Error was another abandoned project. They also asked whether this game would provide HDR support, as previous games built on Unreal Engine 5 didn’t offer it.
Will there be HDR support? All the UE5 games so far except for one, haven't had HDR
