Baldur’s Gate 3 is breaking a lot of industry norms and fans aren’t complaining either. In the present conditions, almost all games require some form of in-game transactions for players to avail an object or cosmetic and experience the game to its fullest extent. However, Larian Studios took a very different path with Baldur’s Gate 3, and fans can’t be happier with the decision. The devs have declared that no in-game purchases or micro-transactions exist in the latest Dungeons & Dragons tabletop RPG. Larian also claims that this will not deter any fan from enjoying the game fully.
Understandably, the absence of micro-transactions in the game has left fans overjoyed with how Larian has decided to go ‘old-school’ with its newest offering.

Larian has been asked about the game’s in-game transactions multiple times. With this being the set norm these days, fans almost expect to find some forms of micro-transactions that will definitely be present in Baldur’s Gate 3.
However, Larian seems to have had enough of the question and has come clean once and for all. The devs have said that they believe in providing a complete experience to players without having them pay for any additional purchases.

Back in the day Devs properly budgeted (and I say that with a grain of salt) and built games and if it was a good game they made money. Today too many games are built around monitization first.

The problem is not devs, the problem is corporate and sales teams that want to milk for profits
