Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are role-playing video games developed by GameFreak and published by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company for the Nintendo Switch. They were released worldwide on November 18, 2022.
The games had massive hype behind them, as this latest generation in the main line of Pokemon games had promised a lot to the community. The notorious gameplay formula of the previous games was expected to see some significant changes in these new installments. Such as nonlinear gameplay, open world map, transition less combat, and more.
But ever since its release, the game has been receiving a lot of criticisms and bad reviews. The game is facing massive performance issues and poor visuals. The community is enraged to the roof, as their highly anticipated Pokemon game hasn’t been able to meet their expectations.
Glaring post-release issues in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
The ninth generation Pokemon games, Scarlet and Violet are not the first Pocket Monster games on the Nintendo switch. Previously, more than eight games of the series have been released on the console. But still, GameFreak lack in using the hardware to its fullest.

It’s only been a few days, but already the community has witnessed a plethora of bugs, performance issues, graphic issues, and more in the game. A few examples of the bugs are:
- The scenery randomly starts disappearing when you throw the Pokeball.
- NPC models clipping into each other.
- The animation of the protagonist eating food being very weird.
- Trainer body parts not working properly.
- Camera issues while traveling the map.
- Pokemon being stuck in the walls.
- Trainer T-Posing in the cut-scenes.
- Background characters disappear.
- And many many more…
How did fans react to these new games?
The internet is torn apart into two groups after the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. One is defending the games, saying the fun gameplay makes up for the inconsistencies. Another is rioting with pitchforks against the game’s lack of motivation and quality.
It is painfully boring to explore. Nothing to look at while riding around. I know the game is focused on the pokemon themselves, but when you have a giant open world game like this, you cant just make everything look flat. There has to be something in the atmosphere.

Yeah it doesn’t look AS GOOD as other games, but I don’t know a single person who ever played Pokémon for the graphics… people still play FireRed to this day and it looks like shit compared to, for example: Let’s Go Pilachu

Pokémon scarlet and violet with breath of the wild tier graphics would be perfect, also could the game just like idk be better optimized? I’m hoping deep inside they optimize the game and release the patch or with a dlc or something.

I think the main reason why these Games look so crappy is, bc Gamefreak wants to earn the most money, by doing as little work as possible. don't give me wrong i love the pokemon Franchise and Games a lot, but Gamefreak needs to focus more on the Overall Game and the main deadline

it looks fine to me? what are people complaining about? that it's not like 4k, 100% detailed sand and rocks and sky? who cares? as long as the game is fun
