With cloud-based gaming becoming a major feature of the gaming industry, Sony naturally wants a piece of the action. With the beta tests in progress, PlayStation users will soon be able to play PS5-supported titles from anywhere and on any device. Despite Sony’s plans for cloud streaming being hinted at in January, nothing official was known till June. “When this feature launches, cloud game streaming for supported PS5 titles will be available for use directly on your PS5 console“, wrote the official PlayStation Twitter handle. Fans inferred that this means downloading games to the console won’t be necessary anymore to play their favorite titles.

The decision comes as a result of Sony’s goal to make the PlayStation Plus experience better for users. With this new feature being in the test phase, fans believe that PlayStation 5 experience will be significantly enhanced. While it is still unsure as to what “4K” means, fans are just happy that Sony is trying to make cloud streaming a reality on its flagship console. Many believe that 4K will be rendering quality for the streamed video, while others speculate the feature will be exclusive to 4K resolution titles.
