Battlefield 2042 is finally gaining traction, and how! Days after registering the highest number of players, the DICE title is once again making the headlines. While the game has been around for over 2 years, it’s only now that fans are returning to its fast-paced combat gameplay. Battlefield 2042 at launch was a disaster. With Battlefield V being accused of murking up historical facts, its follow-up looked to make things right with its fans. However, Battlefield 2042 felt like an incomplete game and lacked flair. This resulted in the game being in the shadows for a long time and the fans looking elsewhere. But now, with the Season 6 updates, the game looks to get things under control and the community is responding back.

A serious lack of interest from fans prompted the devs to go back to work with Battlefield 2042 which resulted in a long list of updates and patches that introduced a lot of new materials to the game. With so much new content, many players started coming back to the game. And now, a week after its free weekend, Battlefield 2042 has registered over 100,000 players: its peak player count since its release.

107,006 is the all-time highest player count for this game. While this might not be much in comparison to some other FPS titles, considering how poorly received the game was at launch, this is some significant development.
