Genshin Impact is a game that is very much inspired by the critically acclaimed and fan-favorite Nintendo title The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The basic gameplay and certain features are undoubtedly very similar in both games.
An example of it would be, cooking. Both of the games let the players cook new and interesting delicacies and it is a very vital part of the game. So it is not surprising that the marketing team behind Genshin decided to use the cooking aspect of the game for promotion.
Genshin Impact Cooking Show!
On the official YouTube page of Genshin Impact, a new series has been launched for the promotion of the game. It is been named, “Liyue’s Cuisine Collection”. In this series, professional chefs will bring amazing culinary cuisines to life from the game’s Liyue region.

Liyue is one of the seven regions in Teyvat. It is the city-state that worships Morax, the Geo Archon. Access to Liyue is unlocked after completing the Archon Quest Prologue: Act I – The Outlander Who Caught the Wind. This region is known for its beautiful aesthetic and rich history in the lore of the game. So it was obvious that the studio chose this region for a cuisine-based show.
The first episode of Liyue’s Cuisine Collection, the cuisine that was brought to life, was “Slow-Cooked Bamboo Shoot Soup.” This is a dish that comes with thousands of years of Liyue culinary culture behind it. We’re sure that even Rex Lapis himself must have been very fond of it.
Fans were ecstatic seeing such an innovative way of promoting the game. They didn’t waste any time showering their love on such an amazing concept. Some of them couldn’t even believe that this was real!

What ingredients would you need to make “Slow-Cooked Bamboo Shoot” soup?
According to this video, the ingredients needed for the dish are:
- There are two types of bamboo shoots, spring, and winter. You will need Spring bamboo shoots.
- Baijiu = rice wine, one type of cooking wine. To reduce the meaty smell.
- Prosciutto style ham.
- Water to boil the bamboo shoots for a minute or two to get rid of the grass/spinach-like taste.
- Vegetable oil to shallow fry the meat to a golden color, so the soup at the end is white, not clear soap.
- Chicken and pork bones.
- No extra flavor is needed (salt/sugar/spice etc.)
