About a year ago, technology giant Microsoft voiced its intent to acquire Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion. Since then, there have been numerous inquiries regarding the deal as to what future it could shape. In the midst of this, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has shared that Sony remains unresponsive to their calls.

Sony has been another tech giant in the community. The company has made a name for itself through its PlayStation consoles in the community. Being a top competitor in the community, it has brought forward exclusive titles like God of War: Ragnarok.

The community has already been gifted with the surprise of Call of Duty possibly making its way to Nintendo soon. But the Microsoft-Activision deal is still facing resistance in the community. In the midst of this, Kotick voiced Sony to avoid picking up their call at a time when they would usually hold discussions for the future.

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick admits Sony is unresponsive to their calls

Recently, Kotick appeared on Fox Business for an interview where he discussed the company’s future and the Microsoft-Activision deal. He also voiced how this was the usual time of discussions with Sony. However, he admitted that Sony hasn’t been returning their calls.

In a video clip posted by the Twitter account Everborn Saga (@EverbornSaga), Kotick said, “It’s funny, Sony is not on the phone to us. In fact, they are not returning our phone calls. And so, I think one of the things that’s surprising to us is this is the time where ordinarily we would be talking about the future and new opportunities together for partnership, and they just haven’t been returning our phone calls.”

The statement was made by the Activision CEO on their current status with Sony. As of now, a response has yet to be received from Sony’s side. All in all, the community would be looking forward to how the deal goes forward.

A website tells the prospects of the deal for the industry as a whole

To make the community aware of the meaning of the acquisition deal, Microsoft and Acitivison had prepared a website for this sole purpose. The website educates the visitors about the positive aspects the deal would bring to the table. Mentioning the players, creators, and the industry, the website talks of the benefits of the Xbox and Activision Blizzard acquisition.

The community might see events before Microsoft’s deal for Activision Blizzard expires in July 2023. Hopefully, it satisfies the expectations and clears the worries of the regulators and the people connected to it. But one has to wait for the future to see where the deal goes.
