Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek is a well-known personality when it comes to first-person shooter games. The former CS:GO pro’s impeccable aim and game sense took him to heights that very few have reached. And now, he’s about to step into the world of Valorant Competitive with one of the most prestigious pro teams.
Shroud shifted to full-time streaming after his retirement from CS:GO competitive in 2018. He regularly played first-person shooter games like Escape from Tarkov, PUBG PC, Rainbow Six Siege, and, of course, Valorant. He has clocked most of his ‘young talent’ days in CS:GO, but his game sense remained intact when he made the switch to his new favorite tactical FPS.

Soon after the shift to Valorant, Shroud recorded some of his best clutches and brainy decision-making on his streams, leaving fans in wonder. His experience being one of the best in CS:GO has paid off since the beginning of his shift. But it was not until now that he decided to take the next step.
Shroud joins the Sentinels
Although the world of eSports has always been unpredictable, Shroud joining a pro Valorant team was surprising, even to his die-hard fans. Moreover, Shroud is going to participate in the upcoming LCQ (Last Chance Qualifiers) as a fifth for the Sentinels. As fans know, the LCQ will offer teams from every region a final chance to win a wild card to the grand Valorant Champions 2022.

Fans were in absolute disbelief at first. In fact, even the people at Sentinels, including TenZ, didn’t see this coming! “Is this real?” TenZ exclaimed on his stream upon knowing, with Shroud laughing in the background.
He’s bootcamping. He’s coming to LCQ. He’s playing smokes. He’s filming content.

Michael also revealed how he ended up in Sentinels, courtesy of a popular talent strategist, Yoni, pitching his name. “Yoni from Loaded said hey can I throw your name in the bucket of Sentinels for the LCQ as their fifth. And I said yeah.” Shroud revealed. “They all thought I was trolling, but I was not trolling!”
Shroud’s new team, the Sentinels, was once known for their undefeatable form, but faced a huge downfall this year due to unfortunate events and lack of synergy. Following the same, Sentinels couldn’t qualify for either of the VCT Stage Masters this year.
In fact, the chances of Sentinels qualifying for the LCQ was once hugely debatable. However, the Sentinels managed to grab a slot following a chanceful opening on the table.
Who will the CS:GO legend replace?
Shroud will be replacing Sentinels’ SicK, who is on an extended leave from the game for a family emergency. In fact, SicK didn’t play the last three matches of the NA Stage 2 Challengers – Group Stage due to the same reason. It was, indeed, a rough patch for the once mighty team. With Shroud chipping in with his experience, Sentinels could gain back what they lost this year.
