15. Canadian Parents sued Fortnite
Parents of two children from Canada sued Fortnite for making their children dependent on the battle royale game. After three long years of legal battle, there was a breakthrough recently. A judge allowed a class action against Epic Games.
14. Fraud
There have been a lot of fraudulent activities by many people through Fortnite. Jake, a teen player of the game, was tricked by someone. The person gave their own email ID and password to Jake to gain his trust and then looted him. While the game introduced children specific accounts, parents were upset that it wasn’t introduced eariler.
13. The FTC issue
This is yet another black mark that fell upon Epic Games. FTC claimed that the game broke laws by collecting data on underage children below 13. This made Epic announce that they will pay $520 million as a fine.
12. No Refunds
Though the game was released in 2017, the refund option only came in 2021. This caused many children to ‘accidentally’ buy cosmetics. Moreover, later the parents could not even revert to the rampant decision made by their children.
11. The Item Shot
The ‘fear of missing out’ is very much present in the game. The cosmetics have a timer and this has created an urgency among teen players to buy the items before it leaves the store.
10. Suit against Floss Emote
The iconic dance step was made popular by a kid nicknamed ‘The Backpack kid’. His mother later sued Epic Games for copying his choreography without consent.
9. The Black Hole
There was a time when Fortnite was sort of ‘shut down’ for a couple of days. This caused many children to throw tantrums and caused quite a headache for the parents. Moreover, the parents were also furious at the fact that a game in which their hard-earned money has been invested had been taken down. But, after two days the game came back online.

8. Bear Hug Emote
This emote was removed from the collection very quickly. This was done by Epic after many complained about the se*ual pose that was made possible within the game.
7. R-rated Characters
The collaborations are one of the most popular aspects of the game. But, collabs with R-rated heroes like Deadpool and the gory Predator have caused a worry or two in the minds of some parents.
6. Zenon
This is actually a story about a parent who supported their child in the game. Zenon was a 9-year-old child who was exceptionally talented in the game. He was playing under the supervision of his father. But Epic suspended his account stating his age, and this has caused quite chaos among the gaming community.

5. Rue
One of the characters the developers had planned for was Rue. The appearance of the character had caused quite a disturbance among parents. Rue’s costume was similar to a Nazi one and later Fortnite had to remove it permanently from the store.

4. The Block
It was an innovative event that the game brought. It featured designs made by players in the creative mode, and the display changed on a weekly basis. But the lack of attention given by Fortnite to these fan-made buildings resulted in outrage among the parents.
3. Sprays
Sprays are actually a part of many games. But, when crossover sprays of Superman and Ali A came, it was a headache for the fans. Because anyone can use their symbols to spell out some mean things.
2. School Bans Fortnite

A Devon school banned the dance moves from Fortnite stating that it was intimidating for the students.
1) The Calamity Skin
The skin was ‘too mature’ for the teen players within the game. Though Epic apologized and removed the skin, it still was a talking point for quite a long time.
