Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast is a new-age pioneer of YouTube. Jimmy single-handedly influenced an entire generation of content creators and introduced a brand new meta in the YouTube scene. A few years ago, Jimmy shared what makes him so much different compared to the creator and why no one tries what he did. 

Currency Jimmy is the most prominent name on YouTube, with over 135 million subscribers and billions of total views on his channel. Jimmy has an astonishing growth rate that even challenges the biggest channel on the platform, T-Series. Donaldson even plans to overthrow them and take revenge for his idol, PewDiePie. 

Why can no one take the place of MrBeast?

Back in 2016, Jimmy dropped out of college to pursue his dream of becoming a full-time Youtuber. Jimmy has been uploading since he was as young as only 12 years old and he got his first breakthrough on his channel when he was 18. Jimmy has been obsessed with YouTube for a long time and he used to spend a lot of time figuring out how to crack the algorithm.

On January 2018, Jimmy got his first viral video. He sat down on a chair and counted from 0 to 100,000. In this 40-hour-long stunt, Jimmy was deliriously exhausted and even said, “What am I doing with my life?” looking at the camera. But in the end, Jimmy’s dedication paid off, and he officially started the journey as MrBeast. 

Back in 2020, in an interview with Bloomberg, Jimmy shared what it takes to be viral and why no one else does what he does. Jimmy said, “The videos take months of prep. A lot of them take four to five days of relentless filming. There’s a reason other people don’t do what I do.”

Ever since Jimmy cracked the code of YouTube, he has produced insane content one after one. He has spent 24 hours in an insane asylum, a prison, and even a remote deserted island to make content no one had ever dreamed of before him. And each video has set a higher bar than before. 

Currently, MrBeast is not limited to a single channel. Other than his main channel videos, Jimmy has been creating highly successful content on his secondary channels, including MrBeast Gaming, and MrBeast Shorts and he also conducts large-scale philanthropic works on his channel, MrBeast Philanthropy.
