The Last of Us: A different Millie

The soul of The Last of Us game was its two amazing main characters. Joel and Ellie’s bond and their journey will surely have the heart and love of each of the fans. Ramsey got critical acclamation as well from the critics. But did you know that during the budding stages of the adaptation, there were other considerations for the role of Millie? Yes, before Bella Ramsey other actors were also taken into consideration for the role. The first is Ramsey’s co-star from the popular Game of Thrones franchise.

During an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the president of Naughty Dog told that they had plans to consider Maisie Williams for the role of Ellie. Maisie Williams was the actress who played Arya Stark in the popular HBO fantasy drama The Game of Thrones. Kaitlyn Dever who is well known for her role in Booksmart was also considered for the project.

Williams and Dever for the movie adaptation?

These two insanely talented actresses were considered when the project was planned as a movie. When the franchise decided to make the Last of Us into a series, this thought was dropped.

Both the actors showed their interest in portraying the iconic character in the series. Dever was even close to bagging the role in the movie project and she was considered to be an amazing pick by the fans because of her close resemblance with Ellie.
