At the Showcase, Bethesda that Starfield would have “over 1,000 planets” that are spread across 100 star systems.  This invariably means that many of these planets would be available to explore as well as host a number of POIs where rare items could be found or harvested. Even though Bethesda did not reveal the details of all the planets, many systems and planets have been confirmed, each with its unique ecosystem and precise locations.

Known details

Here’s what we know about Starfield’s celestial bodies yet

  • Sol System: The system that was, or maybe still is, inhabited by humans. It seems that something catastrophic on Earth led humans to settle on Mars. There’s a shroud around the system that fans believe would unfold to tell the story of what happened on Earth.
  • Alpha Centauri: The closest solar system to Sol, controlled by the United Colonies and home to New Atlantis, located on the planet Jemison. The system hosts a gas giant as a planet.
  • Narion System: During the outpost display section, Bethesda briefly showcased Narion, where at least one moon named Vectera is located. Players can build their outposts which they can use as defensive buildings or as the ground to harvest.
  • Procyon A: Situated directly west of Sol and northwest of Alpha Centauri. Procyon III is the only confirmed celestial body in the system.
  • Bardeen III: Infested with something that’s a cross between spiders and wasps, easily on the list of places to steer clear of.
  • Cassiopeia I: With trees and rock-like formations, the planet looks similar to Earth.
