The Super Mario Bros. movie is set to release on April 7, 2023. This movie is a joint venture of Nintendo and Illumination studios. Moreover, Chris Pratt will be voicing the leading role of Mario. Alongside him will be Jack Black, Seth Rogen, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Charlie Day. They will be playing the role of Bowser, Donkey Kong, Princess Peach, and Luigi.
Above all, the freshly arrived trailer has stoked the fans. And has taken their expectations to new heights. But something seems to have caught the attention of the avid fans. And that too in a different linguistic altogether.

The Super Mario Bros. movie trailer was released in languages like Spanish, French, Italian, and some more. Moreover, that changed the dubbed voices of characters. We all know Chris Pratt will be voicing Mario. But the fans seemed to be also delighted to hear the sensational character in various other languages. And one such dubbing of Mario has stormed the internet.
The Super Mario Bros. movie trailer seems to have impressed the community in a different manner
Well, it’s none other than the French dubbed trailer. The French dubbed Mario has left the fans flabbergasted. And fans have noticed that this dub is sounding more like Mario. Yong Yea, a voice actor, earlier tweeted, “Alright I’m watching the Mario Movie in French.” And also attached a clip of the French dubbed trailer with the tweet.
On the other hand, fans have communicated their feelings about Chris Pratt’s voice in the Mario character. They have noticed the Brooklyn accent in the voice of Mario, featured in the English trailer. And while some fans seemed to be perplexed by hearing Pratt’s Mario, others seemed to rejoice at it.
Moreover, as reported by the organization IGN, the Mario movie producer and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri, had propagated his views on this earlier. He said, “When people hear Chris Pratt’s performance, the criticism will evaporate, maybe not entirely – people love to voice opinions, as they should.”
However, the fans seemed to be surprised by seeing the French dubbed Mario. As they feel that it sounds more like Mario than the English version. And has thus attracted fans to the French dubbed trailer. And some might already be preparing to learn French. As a fan replied to Yong’s tweet, “Will learn french just to watch this movie in french.”
Here are some other reactions of the fans:

It seriously bugs me that people are saying that a voice like this would be annoying to listen to for a full movie. This sounds great and I really wish we got this for English as well.

It even sounds like Mario is ACTUALLY jumping here. Aside from the sound of Pratt’s voice, the energy isn’t quite where it needs to be for the English dub from what we’ve seen.

That’s more Mario than the English version 🤦♂️🤣🤣
