The world of Nintendo is no stranger to leaks. Following the leaks surrounding the Nintendo Switch, it seems leakers found yet another piece of news for Mario fans. This time, it is even better, since it heralds the arrival of a new Super Mario game entirely!

It seems Twitch user Snitch revealed the arrival of a new Nintendo game scheduled for a reveal later this week. The arrival of this news fits the timeline, given Nintendo Direct takes place later this week. The event could be where the new Mario game is announced. According to sources, there will be two games. One game is a new 2D Super Mario Bros. game, while the other is a remake of a SNES classic.

Some gamers speculated the remake in question could be Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. However, only time will tell which classic is being spoken about.

Super Mario’s return to 2D

The original 2D Mario was when most people first fell in love with the game. The side-scrolling adventure is a trip down memory lane, as players tried to make their way through the game. With this new entry, the franchise will return to a 2D game after several years.
