As each day passes, Nintendo fans are getting more and more excited about the arrival of the biggest title for their consoles this year. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on May 12 and is expected to top the charts. Currently, we do not have much info on what to expect from the game, except some glimpses which were shown through the few trailers and sneak-peeks.
One of the fascinating factors that caught the eye of many is the events/activities unfolding in the skyline. So, here are some mysteries about the sky which we will get to see in Tears of the Kingdom.

Before diving into these concepts, be wary to take these in with a pinch of salt. Especially as many ideas originated out of supposed theories that we might experience in the actual game.
5. Magical Lines
In the available footage, players can see some mystical lines flowing downward from the floating island. Though in the latest trailer, these are dark and are blending with the background, we can draw an idea about this from the initial videos that surfaced about the game.
Remember the video where Link surfaced through a block of concrete on the floating island with the help of some green-themed magic? It seems like the mystical lines may mostly be the same. That is, it might be a route to connect the ground and these floating islands.
4. The floating Sphere
In the latest video, we can spot a gigantic sphere floating in mid-air. It sort of seems similar to one of the bridge mechanisms that the fans got to see. But a closer look deems otherwise. It seems much bigger, even from a long shot. Likely, these might be an area where some mini-boss might live in. Or even a new type of dungeon found in the sky. We are not shown the other side of the sphere. Maybe there is something more intriguing on that side as well.
3. The Tower
One of the most noticeable monuments in the trailers is the stone tower. According to many rumors, this might be the place where we start our journey in the new game. Interestingly, a closer look at the stone tower points to an intriguing visual. It seems like the top of the tower is an arena. Maybe Link will be participating in some action-filled competition there, or we can even expect the final boss battle to happen at this very spot.
2. Falling Debris
Though this is related to the sky islands, the main impact of this factor is on the ground. That is, in the available visual data, fans could spot some magically infused stones raining down. They vary in size and seem to resemble a comet, with the only difference being green colored in nature. These might pose a hazard or something that the players need to watch out for while playing the game.

This falling debris seems to be connected with the mystical floating islands of the sky.
1. The origins of the sky islands
The elephant in the room regarding this topic is the sky islands itself. It surely will have some complex narrative that directs players to the reason why these islands are floating mid-air. The current popular theories about these are that they got here from another realm. That is, there was some sort of a magical event that pushed a connection between the world we see in Tears of the Kingdom and some other existing realm.

Another interesting theory that is currently speculated is that these islands are monuments from the past. Time travel has been incorporated into this idea. And it seems like the reason why they are mid-air is that these islands actually do not belong to the present. Thus a past-present time continuum is expected from the new Zelda game.
