The finalists of the Sao Paulo event, LOUD, have become the unfortunate recipient of an early exit at Masters Tokyo. They were defeated by Evil Geniuses in the upper bracket quarterfinals. Then they were eliminated from the tournament by EDward Gaming in the lower bracket round one. With this loss, they have landed at the 7th-8th position in the tournament. This exit gave rise to the talks about the second-place curse in Valorant.

Unfortunately, LOUD has fallen for this curse twice, like OpTic Gaming. And the curse has worked all seven times on VCT. For those who don’t know this curse, the theory is something that the fans have crafted. In this, whenever a team places second at an international LAN event, the same team ends up departing the next tournament fairly early on and has little to no success.
